San Francisco Museum of Craft & Folk Art [MOCFA]

a third yearcore studio at the University of Nevada Las Vegas [UNLV]

A wealthy collector has donated a collection of folk-art and finely crafted utilitarian objects from around the world to the Museum of Craft and Folk Art of San Francisco.

A site located in the Financial District within walking distance from Chinatown has the potential to become a social hub for those looking to spend lunch or an afternoon at the museum.

Each major program division offers a unique experience from the other. The ground levels become fluid and transparent, the gallery spaces secluded and protective, and the roof spaces scenic & panoramic.

The project looks to create three environments two of which plot and place the other in the spotlight.  SF Mocfa levitates the galleries above ground level like a hand holding a treasure chest full of valuables.
